Doland is located in eastern Spink County, South Dakota, on US Highway 212 about an hour west of Watertown, SD.
The town was incorporated on August 4, 1909, and has a population of of about 260, as of July 2007. This represents a change of about 11% from the 2000 census.
The town is made up of German, Irish, French, Norwegian, and Swedish ancestries.
Post 69 is not a very active post, but conducts several patriotic activities during the year. Its 2009 goal was 35 and currently stands at 30 members.
