The Manchester Arts Commission solicited this work in 2006, and the design was unveiled in 2007. The bronze sculpture is the creation of Jonathan and Evelyn Clowes, of Walpole, NH. The installation began on May 11, 2009, on the lawn of the Verizon Wireless Arena.

My impression was of a delicate interaction; The organic elements leap from the ground while cradling and sheltering the globe. It reminds me of the power of nature to maintain and restore our fragile earth, if we as stewards allow and support her efforts.
