The Military Tribute Flagpole sits atop a hill and is a prominent feature of the Col Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park. Additional plaques encompass the memorial for the each branch of the military as well as individual fallen soldiers.

The plaque reads:
"DUTY HONOR COUNTRY
It is The City of Irvine's privilege
to honor our nation's brave service
men and women who have made
the ultimate sacrifice in support of
freedom and in defense of our
great nation.
Irvine's rich heritage has been
closely aligned with two local bases,
El Toro Marine Base and the
Tustin Lighter Than Air Facility
keeping the military close to
our hearts.
Memorial plaques are placed in
remembrance of those Irvine service
members who have made the
ultimate sacrifice. They are
