Two Rumsey Triplex Pumps were installed by the Evergreen Cemetery Co in 1905. Following an explosion of one of these pumps, the City of Savannah placed a Sterling Deep Well Turbine Pump on site in 1934. This operated until the cemetery was connected to the Savannah Water System.
The area was cleared in 1998 and is maintained by th Bonaventure Historical Society.
