The International Swimming Hall of Fame (http://www.ishof.org) was founded in 1965 to honour swimmers, synchronized swimmers, divers, and water polo players.
There is a museum which is open daily 9am to 5pm and an extensive library and archives. Some of the interesting items you might see include Olympic medals, Mark Spitz's starting block from the 1972 Olympics, and tributes to former presidents Ronald Reagan (a former lifeguard) and John F. Kennedy (former member of the Harvard swim team).
There is also a theatre where you can view films on water safety or Olympic swim coverage, or movies such as Johnny Weismuller's "Tarzan" by request.
As well as tributes to the past, the Hall of Fame promotes water safety and education, and healthy lifestyle.
