I reached this location by driving across pretty much, raw desert.
There was a road there at one time (4x4 recommended due to sand)
but it's no longer used so the tracks are fading.
This is on public lands to the best of my knowledge.
Coming from Las Vegas, take Hwy 160 North.
Turn left at what we call "The road to Tacopa". I believe it's
Old Spanish Trail. Paved.
Using your GPS and a fair amount of luck, take the dirt "road"
to the right (North, waypoint is something
like 35.972172,-115.992537 )
Here where the 4x4 used to be needed. Please note, I did this in 2003
so I don't know the current condition of the road.
That should get you into the area. It's mostly flat.
BEWARE of snakes esp in the late evenings.
Winter, snakes not much of an issue especially when it's cold.
In summer, BRING WATER.
Cell phones may work in this area.
Have fun!
