Eagles Ridge manages a neighborhood of rustic wood construction cabins spread along the valley on both sides of ridge - off the beaten path from the Pigeon Forge tourist strip. No "view", but no promo glitz either. Couples to family gatherings are held here to enjoy down time which still have close access to activities, shopping, golf, and the Great Smoky Mountain park. My family has stayed in over a dozen of the cabins over the years for the above reasons.

Some cabins are basics. Most have four person hot tubs. A few have pool tables, which my sons enjoy. This waymark is being created from one using the wi-fi connection (since a rainy day) while several of the group are out shopping. (If your cabin doesn't have wifi, then try small bird and house number.) Cards and games later.

Cost is slightly higher than hotels, but full kitchens and gas grills allow cooking to have quiet evenings together.

2012 update. The cabins are starting to show their age - need new carpet, restain the exterior, and fix the screens. There are newer resort complexes in the area, but one advantage for Eagles Ridge is very quick and easy access to Pigeon Forge entertainment and activities.
