Fern Grove and Rose Island were the site of two recreational areas north of Charlestown, IN on the Ohio River. Rose Island was in this area in 1923 and did not reopen after the 1937 flood, the record flood ever recorded on the Ohio River. The area could be reachd by suspension bridge from the Indiana side and steamboat from the river side.
