Sculpture is a bust of Carl Linnaeus, a Swedish botanist who laid the foundations for the modern scheme of Binomial nomenclature. He is known as the father of modern taxonomy. The marble bust is above the main entrance to the Linnean House (large greenhouse) at the Missouri Botanical Garden.
