Mendips is a 1930s semi-detached property and is in Woolton, south Liverpool, England. The house belonged to Lennon's Aunt Mimi and her husband George. They took him in 1945 when he was five because his mother could not cope after John's father left them. He remained here until 1963 when he was 23 years old.

There is no direct access by car or on foot. Visits are by combined minibus tour only with 20 Forthlin Road, the childhood home of Paul McCartney (charge including NT members). Any photography inside Mendips or duplication of audio tour material is strictly prohibited. You will be asked to deposit all handbags, cameras and recording equipment at the entrance to the house
