I never heard of ghost bikes before except as a Waymarking category. In only recent weeks, I've come across two.
This memorial is on the corner of McGuiness and Nassau Avenues in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, New York. This is near a friend's home and we found it as we were walking to a nearby subway station. These are very moving to see in person, and hopefully they act as an effective reminder to safely share the roads by vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.
The cyclist was Solange Raulston who was a DJ known as Reverend Soul.
