A huge mobile located in the entrance of a Denver City and County Building Permit Center.

This piece is located in the exterior rotunda of the former Denver City Permit Building. Sculptor (www.erickcjohnson.com/) Erick C. Johnson said, "This is a site-specific piece for the Denver Building Permit Center. I wanted to relate architectural hand-drafting tools into a signature piece of artwork."
The piece cost $25,000, measures 15' x 13½' x 13½' and was installed in 1989. It is made from stainless steel and neon, though I have never seen it illuminated. It moves from the heat waves off the street during the summer.
