Nettie was officially unveiled in Port Fairy and was later moved to her present site at the Nirranda & District Netball Association grounds, on the western end of the Great Ocean Road (visit link) .
Nettie is said to be inspired by the windmills of south west Victoria, and indeed she swings into the breeze like a wind vane or windmill does.
