Marker Text: As part of a company housing policy, the Shevlin-Hixon Company built this house as quarters for middle-managers and the comptroller. The company was known for providing luxurious aminities in its camps as well. Amenities included a motion-picture theater, and a forty-piece band, rated among the best in the state. Close friendships and company loyalty kept moral high in the camps.
