Sidney by the Sea is proud of its marine heritage. The Mariner Village Mall is trading this heritage. The mall features a lighthouse structure above the grocery store and an anchor in the flower bed. In reality the sea is about a kilometer (half a mile) away, straight down Beacon Ave. There you will find the historical beacon giving the street its name.
