The Junction Bridge was originally built in 1884. When constructed it was a swing bridge however in 1970 the bridge was converted to a vertical lift bridge. With the reduction of railroad traffic the bridge was taken out of service. In 2008 the bridge was opened to pedestrians and the bridge remains in the raised position.
