This bridge was constructed in 1914 by prolific bridge builder Joseph A. Britton. It gets its name from James D. McAllister, who owned a large farm nearby. It remains open to traffic and can be visited on the Black Route of the Parke County covered bridge map. In the winter, Crooks Bridge and Neet Bridge can be seen upstream and downstream from McAllister Bridge.

Description of Covered Bridge: Single span Burr arch truss with a span of 126' and a total length of 143'. Portals are 16'W by 14'H. Concrete abutments.
