On May 20, 2010 Adam Hofstetter, a 37 year old real estate agent, and father, was riding his bike westbound on Hawkins Line just west of Tillsonburg. He was hit from behind, and the motorist who hit Mr Hofstetter did not remain at the scene of the accident. A 51-year old man from Alymer was charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death.
A passerby noticed the bicycle and other debris around 10:45pm.
The ghost bike is attached to a metal post that has been driven into the ground here. The memorial signage is a piece of paper inside a plastic pouch - as the memorial is very new, a more permanent plaque is most likely being added later.
