"Located in the heart of Petit Village Francois, this house was built by
Laurent Etienne Pensoneau in 1818. He was the son of Etienne Pensoneau who built
the first official St. Clair County Courthouse in 1817. Laurent's bride was a
descendant of Jean Baptiste Saucier, the designer of the second Fort de Chartres."
