Built between 1933 and 1935, this is the highest street tunnel of Austria and probably the highest street tunnel of the eastern alps! The tunnel can only be visited between May and October in the times between 9am and 8:45pm! The price is 26 EUR (for one car and two persons, June 2006). This tunnel has been seeing visitors since 1935 for a total of about fifty million! The end of the tunnel ends at the Hohe Tauern National Park. The tunnel acts as the crossing the Federal border from Carinthia to Salzburg.
