Baseball is not very popular i.e almost completely unknown in Switzerland; most people have only seen baseball fields in American movies.
The village Therwil, South of Basel, is one of the very few exceptions. This field is home of the Therwil Flyers that have won the Swiss National championship eight times. The softball team of the Therwil Flyers has eight national championships as well.
Nevertheless the field is very basic. There are outfield fences and lights, but no bleachers, no scoreboards, no concessions, not even player benches.
