The Roxboro Woman's Club founded the library in 1936. Members donated books and worked as volunteers. A room in the basement of the club house in which meetings were held was used until 1941. In May of 1941 interested citizens rallied together in support of the library with the purpose of making service available to all the people of Person County.
The library is located at 319 South Main Street, Roxboro. The current library building was opened in the 1970's.
