County Named, 1792
For Gen. Benjamin Logan (1743-1802), pioneer and Indian fighter who called the Danville Assembly, 1784, leading to ten conventions preceding Kentucky's separation from Virginia, 1792. Logan served as a delegate in all ten, later in the legislature. Logan County was formed from part of Lincoln County, and organized immediately after Ky. admitted to the Union.
