The Pulpit is carved in stone and painted. It was moved in 1983 from a more central position towards the south were it now stands. During this process the funerary slap of a previous incumbent was discovered. The exposed skeleton was later reburied. There was some damage to the Pulpit during the Protectorate(1653–1659) with several small stone figures of saints being removed. The niches that the saints occupied are now filled with wooden details of the Coats of Arms of King Charles II.
An hour glass for the Pulpit was purchased in 1599 at the price of 16 pence. Vicars at the time were known to preach for over two hours.
