In front of wonderul and amazing building of Milan cathedral (Duomo di Milano), on opposite side of the square is standing bronze equestrian statue of the first king of united Italy - Viktor Emmanuel II. The monument was designed by Ercole Rosa and it was dedicated in 1896. Twolions from both sides of a pedestal of the equestrian statue symbolize undoubtely bravery of the king, but today it looks they suffer from beaks of lofts of Milan's pidgeons ;-)
