This monument is located next to the Moszkva square next ot the entrance of Mammut mall.
Here, in the Széna square was one of the main headquarters of the freedom fighters in 1956. They task was to stopping the incoming russian army from east and protect this corner of Budapest. The monument is dedicated to the died warriors.
The statue has been made by Ferec Árvai in 2001. This was the first monument of 1956 in Budapest.
