Glass Insulator House - Junk Design Houses on Waymarking.com

Glass insulators were first used in the 1850's for telegraph lines. The wires needed to be kept separate from the wooden poles they were attached to and glass "jars" were the best option. They were used for telephone lines, electric power lines, and other applications. No longer in use, people began collecting these antique insulators.
The owner of the house began collecting the insulators more than 15 years ago and has filled his yard with poles resembling telegraph poles to display them. They line his property and driveway. He has been featured in the Weird New Jersey magazine in issues 17 and 18. Weird New Jersey article:
