This mural is found in one of the hallways of the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center in Thornton, Colorado. The mural has a large portrait of actress Jane Russell, who helped with the advertising of the original development of Thornton. Her brother-in-law was involved in the initial construction and she came out to help. (
visit link) I live near 'Russell Boulevard'. Thornton was designed to attract veterans from the Korean War (as is my father) who had a guaranteed Veterans Administration home loan. (
