The grave of Major Benjamin Day is located at the
Masonic Burying Ground in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The brochure at the cemetery shows him to be at Grave No. 4.
The Masonic Burying Ground covers approximate one-half an acre; bought and enclosed by the Fredericksburg Lodge of Masons for members and their families.
From the Library of Virginia Digital Collection, Survey Report on the Masonic Cemetery:
Major Benjamin Day was twice Mayor of Fredericksburg, warden and vestryman in
Saint George’s Church. He was a real philanthropist. He served in the
Revolutionary War as side de camp to General Woodford and Lord Stirling. He was
adjutant Second Virginia Regiment in 1777.
He was an enthusiastic Mason and was one of the seven Grand Masters for the
Grand Lodge of Virginia, furnished by Fredericksburg Lodge, having been elected
to that office, November 27, 1797.
