Tornado a sculpture by Andrew Smith is a Kinetic Works of Fascination and Fancy. Using the huge pile of scrap metal and discarded objects surrounding his warehouse like art studio, artist Andrew Smith makes large, kinetic art pieces that perform for the viewer. Tornado uses small fans and a fountain mister (diffuser) to create a small tornado. The tornado can be interrupted by sticking a hand or object into the “vortex” It will then reappear as soon as the air flow returns to normal.
To see the sculpture go to the entrance lobby of the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point Lehi Utah. It is located immediately adjacent to the gift shop and to the left as you enter the museum. It is open to the public and there is NO FEE to access or view the sculpture.
