The golden criss-cross pattern of “Tennallytown Square” weaves over a red background to add a warm touch to this old white barn. My first thought was their choice of Iowa State colors; the banner hung on the neighboring silo confirms that the members of this family are indeed “Cyclone” fans. The farm is easily found on 235th Street (E-53), the old historic Lincoln Highway and is listed as #30 on the Greene County Barn Quilt map.
Your Visit:
My husband’s cousin is the chairperson for the Greene County Barn Quilts, and it was a special thrill to have our own personal guided tour. Her special stories added a lot to our enjoyment of these barn quilts.
