This sign is an apparently authentic sign and is displayed at the National City Santa Fe Rail Depot which was built in 1882. The Depot is the only remaining original terminus depot of the trancontinental railroad.
The Museum also displays many old photos of the depot and surrounding area.
The sign reads:
