The web isite ate (
visit link) tells us:
"The Murray 1 Power Station and Visitors Centre is located only 10 minutes from Khancoban on the Alpine Way. The Murray 1 Power Station is the second largest power station in the Snowy Mountains Scheme, with 10 turbines each capable of producing enough electricity to supply over 95,000 homes.
Offering an exciting interactive experience, the visitors centre has models of generator units and interactive displays.
BBQ’s and picnic areas by the water are available with light refreshments also available in the café. Take some time out to enjoy a coffee while keeping an eye out for platypus swimming in the pondage."
