This memorial, to the Boer War, takes the form of a drinking fountain within the grounds of Guy's Hospital.

The fountain is made from coloured and polished marble with gunmetal used for the inscriptions, water outlet and a decorative piece, Guy's Hospital Arms, at the top of the arch.
The inscription that runs along the edge of the semi-circular canopy, reads:
"To the Guy's Men who died in the South African War 1899-1902"
Beneath that, along the back shallow recess, are the words:
"Ante Diem Perierunt Sed Militantes Sed Pro Patria"
The inscription to the left reads:
"Thomas Jones . Quin / ten Reid Vitch . / Charles Pope / Walker . Frederick / Murray Russell . / Hugh Arnold Bryant . / Francis Wellford."
The inscription to the right reads:
"Stanley Whicher . / Richard Truman / Fitz-Hugh . Hugh / Bernard-Onraet . / Charles Bernard / Sells . Lawson / Jervis Hughes."
The memorial was unveiled on 3rd July 1903 and was provided by the Governors of the hospital. The designer was Frederick Wheeler and the manufacturer was the Coalbrookdale Company.
