Every year, the San Diego Port Authority hosts a gigantic fireworks over the wonderful San Diego harborfront.

The San Diego Port Authority organizes 4 barges of fireworks at different locations along the bayfront. There are numerous places to get a good seat to see them all. The fireworks are also synchronized with music you can listen to on the radio.
The coordinates here refer to the area in front of the Sheraton Bay Towers on Harbor Island Drive.
Note.... not only does one see the fireworks from the four barges at this location...but you can see the fireworks on the horizon from some other distant locations as well.
In some locations, you may also catch the nightly fireworks set off at SeaWorld.
Another important note....Harbor Island gets so crowded that the Port now stops people from entering the area around 3 p.m. unless you have a pass from one of the hotels....so, do as the locals do: come early in the a.m..... get your parking place, set up a picnic (porta-potties are always available)...or maybe you have your lunch and dinner at one of the hotels or restaurants.
Don't be in a haste to go home...or you will just be caught in a giant traffic jam.
