When I visited the east coast many years ago, the one question I was asked by almost everyone was if I had ever been to Vail. Well, yea.

When you are a native of a state (in my case, Colorado) you sometimes don't realize the 'mystique' local places have to others who have not visited. Vail is just beautiful. The town is laid out like an European village which allows for casual strolling and enjoyment of the art and shops. This is a ski town, so most activities are geared for the white stuff to slide upon. But Vail is great to visit in the summer as well. There are many bicycle trails (you can ride paved trail from Avon [actually, even further west] to Breckenridge; fishing and hiking opportunities are everywhere. There is a free shuttle bus to take you throughout the valley.
OK, parking during the winter is challenging (to be polite). Yes, they will tow your vehicle. Parking in the summer is much easier with a lot at the visitors center. Do visit Vail sooner than later because the beetle kill (

Localized waymark sites (Structures, Landmarks, Businesses) should reflect standard waymarking visit criteria (Logs & photos).
