The text on this marker reads:
"Black River Junction Landing at Fort Dent
A Flat-bottomed boat called the Traveler carried passengers and goods on the Black River to and from the Duwamish and Green rivers between 1854 and 1886. A Landing for the Flat-bottomed boats was located near the site of Fort Dent.

Donated and Erected by the City of Tukwila, King County, Tukwila Historical Society. September 1986"

In addition to being a landing for boats int the 1850-60s, this location was later a railroad place name (former site of a railroad control tower). Between 1903-1923 there was a draw bridge not far from this site (http://www.historylink.org/index.cfm?DisplayPage=output.cfm&file_id=4252)
