Edgard is one of the oldest settlements in Louisiana, located on the "German Coast" an area settled by Germans in the mid 1700's.
First Lt. Jacques Cantrelle II served in the Louisiana Militia. His father, Jacques has alot of history found in searches. I could not find any information about Jacques II, except he was married in Plattenville, and lived and died in Edgard, LA.
