Marker Text: B.M. “Brunt” Rogers, one of Idaho Falls’ first millionaires, often stood on the opposite corner admiring his grand accomplishment. Built in 1937 for $300,000, the Rogers Hotel offered 100 Beautifully Furnished Rooms with Baths for $2.00 and up. Fred H. Chapin, former proprietor of the Eleanor Hotel on Broadway catered to Roger’s guests that included President Herbert Hoover, Senate Majority Leader and Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson, Governor Ronald Reagan, singer Bing Crosby and actors Gary Cooper and Roy Rogers. Local residents also remember Carroll’s Dress Shop, the White Horse Bar and the Coffee Shop.
