The Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson Train Station opened in 1871 by LS&MS (Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railways) It would have been a days trip to get to Ashtabula but, by train, only an hour. It traveled up to 60mph. In 1980 the coal mines in Stonoboro, Pennsylvania closed which in turn sent this train into retirement. However, today it serves a historical and entertainment purpose.
