The city hall is located in the middle of the plaza in downtown Holtville. The building was built in 1917, a few years after the city was incorporated. Around the two story building are memorials, including a war memorial and a time capsule.
Holtville is located in Imperial County. It's about 10 miles east of El Centro. The 2010 population was 5,939.
Holtville was immortalized in pop culture in a 1940s Bug Bunny cartoon when Bugs got the Imperial Valley Carrot Festival and Coachella Valley confused.
