Westview Cemetery is located on the west edge of Rush Springs, 1-3/4 miles west of Highway 81 on Highway 17. The entrance is along Highway 17, with a long, paved roadway into the cemetery itself. The cemetery was established in 1999. As you enter the cemetery grounds, a circular drive surrounds this war memorial.
The memorial is located on the north edge of a circular area about 40 feet in diameter. The area is surrounded by an 18 inch high stone wall and is planted with flowers and shrubs.
The monument consists of two tall granite slabs on a granite base. At the top of the slabs is a triangular stone beautifully engraved on both sides with an eagle. The eagle's wings are spread, and a ribbon reads HONOR OUR VETERANS. At this time, there are just 18 names engraved on the south side of the monument, facing the landscaping.
The monument was placed by Rush Springs American Legion Post 80. This is engraved on the north side of the monument, along with the American Legion seal.
