Situated alongside the A619, Baslow Road, out of Bakewell, at the junction with Station Road stands this unused and partially converted Victorian Drinking Fountain. It is Grade II listed and was built c1870 of ashlar sandstone on a gritstone plinth of three hexagonal steps; the fountain is triangular and in Gothic Revival style having miniature diagonal buttresses with gablets, semi-circular basins on columnar shafts set below large gables with ball-flower ornament. On one side the original basin has been removed and the void created now contains the electrics for the lamp. The ashlar spire has rustication, fishscale bands and a large ball finial now surmounted by a imitation C20th street gas lamp.
Setting: Outside

Place: On a triangular relief in the centre of a road junction.

Use: A street light.
