Nestled in the in the famous hills of Brown County, Indiana, this winery was established in 1985 by David and Cynthia Schrodt. Expansion occurred in 2000, and again in 2006. Very popular with tourists and locals alike, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There is a large tasting room in the winery on State Road 46, and another smaller tasting room in nearby Nashville.
The Schrodts are proud of the awards their wines have won. They are also justifiably proud of their wines themselves, and state on their website:
Our goal at Brown County Winery is to produce high quality local wines, and offer them at a reasonable price. We want our customers to have an educational and enjoyable tasting experience, in a relaxed atmosphere. Our wines exemplify what Brown County is all about,
handcrafted locally made products.
If you are a Moscato fan, try the semi sweet Vista White. Very reasonably priced and great tasting!
