Het Signaal van Botrange (Frans: Signal de Botrange) in de Hoge Venen is met 694 meter boven TAW het hoogste punt van België. Andere, Duitse berekeningen en Google Earth beschouwen de Weisse Stein in Mürringen als het hoogste punt van België. De titel "hoogste berg van België" is dus momenteel een punt van discussie.
In 1804 bouwde een Franse kolonel een eerste houten toren voor cartografische opmetingen. In 1899 werd deze door de Duitsers vervangen door een houten toren van 30 m hoog om de grens met België te bewaken. De toren verdween in 1925 om in 1934 plaats te maken voor het huidige complex.
Botrange in de gemeente Weismes werd na de Eerste Wereldoorlog Belgisch gebied als deel van de Oostkantons. Koning Albert I liet zijn nieuwe grondgebied onmiddellijk opmeten. Om die landmetingswerken mogelijk te maken bouwde de militaire gouverneur Herman Baltia in 1923 op de hoogste plek, een signaal zoals dat heet in geografische termen, een 6 meter hoge constructie, bereikbaar via een trap (zie foto). Zo kwam België toch aan de magische hoogte van 700 meter.
Vlakbij ligt het Natuurparkcentrum Botrange, een deel van het Natuurpark Hoge Venen-Eifel.

The Signal of Botrange (French: Signal de Botrange) in the High Fens is with 694 meters above sea level,the highest point of Belgium. German calculations and Google Earth proclaim the Weissenstein Mürringen as the highest point in Belgium. The title "highest point in Belgium" is currently a matter of debate.
In 1804 a French colonel built a wooden tower for cartographic measurements. In 1899 it was replaced by the Germans. The build a wooden tower 30 meters high to guard the border The tower disappeared in 1925. In 1934 the present complex was build.
Botrange in Waimes became Belgian territory after the First World War. King Albert wanted to measure his new territory immediately. For that surveying the military governor Herman Baltia built, a in geographical terms so called ´signal´ at this highes point. It was a 6 meter high structure, accessible via a stair. By this Belgium reached the magic altitude of 700 meters.
