Chris' World Famous Hot Dogs is located on Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery, Alabama. As you stand by the door, you can look up the street to the State Capitol Building up on Goat Hill. The place is narrow, with a counter and a side seating area added a few decades ago. When I ate there today, the grandson of the founder was telling me stories from their history, including the times his grandfather threw Hank Williams out of the place back in the days when it was open all night. They are open more traditional hours now, closing by 7:00pm, except on Fridays when they stay open till 8:00pm. They are closed on Sundays. The menu now includes other items, such as hamburgers, chicken fingers, and soup. On my visit, I stayed with the hot dogs, which were great.
