Edmund Charles and Anna Ophelia Hornneman Slemmer moved to the Parker area in 1918 from Illinois and began building a dairy farm shortly after their arrival. As part of the Slemmer Ranch, the family built a barn in 1919 that was used to house dairy cows and horses on the first floor and functioned as a hay loft on the second floor.
The barn was restored by Curtis Dale in 1995 with the help of a number
of local businesses.
