In 1976, the Westfield Bicentennial Committee erected a granite monument Lieutenant Richard Falley to commemorate the Nation's bicentennial.

The City of Westfield's Bicentennial Committee erected this 4 ft. x 3 ft. x 6 in. at Holland Avenue and Court Street in downtown Westfield in 1976. It is an historic marker that honors the local Revolutionary War hero Lieutenant Richard Falley and his role in supplying arms the Continental Army. A precisely incised image of a musket decorates the monument. The monument is inscribed:
