Disused Drinking Fountain, Datchet, Berkshire. UK - Converted Fountains on Waymarking.com

This drinking fountain is not in its original location which was in the centre of the village. In 1886 Lady Needham, daughter of the Earl of Kilmorey gave this to the village. It is made from Aberdeen granite, and an conscription around the bowl indicates this donation. It also has several biblical inscriptions carved into it along with one that states:

'Drink both ye and your cattle'

The fountain was removed to the grounds of Churchmead School where it remained forgotten. Restored in 1990 and re-located on the North Green to prevent it from being damaged by traffic.
