The castle is situated in the city Vlašim, over the river Blanice. The original castle was built in the 14th century by Hynek from Vlašim. From the middle of the 15th century till the middle of the 16th century, the castle was gradually reconstructed and rebuilt into a seat in Renaissance style. Since the 18th century until 1945 it was owned by family of Auerspergove, who had the castle rebuilt in classicism. In the castle exposition there are original weapons, hunting trophys of former owners, historical clothes and many other historical exponates.

Zámek se nachází ve meste Vlašim nad rekou Blanicí. Puvodní hrad nechal postavit ve 14. století Hynek z Vlašimi. Od poloviny 15. století do poloviny století 16. byl hrad postupne premenován na šlechtické sídlo a renesancne prestaven. Od 18. století až do roku 1945 vlastnili zámek Auerspergové, kterí nechali zámek upravit klasicistne. Touto podobou se zámek chlubí dodnes. V zámecké expozici se nacházejí puvodní zbrane, lovecké trofeje drívejších majitelu, náradí a odevy užívané v minulosti a mnoho dalších zajimavých historických exponátu.
